The last three of four times it has snowed it's been melted off by the afternoon. Kind of makes you wonder why it bothers.

Might go out with my new metal detector today, shouldn't be anyone else at the beach.

dude, I was looking on that wilderness wiki site you told me about, and I made the deadfall thats on their.
it works really well too.
I just hope I can get the trigger to be sensitive enough.

I take it this will not be a good enough subsitute.

I think its alittle to complicated and time consuming for a survival situation.

You are better off sticking with spring snares and figure 4 dead falls.

I made a figure four deadfall today with my fears survival knife, worked great with making notches.
Thats the one thing I dont like about the yard hook, its harder to make notches with recurves.

I used my DFLE to make all the notches and drill all the holes and cut all the rope. (lol, "rope"... I just destroyed my little brother jump rope)

don't they take alot of tweaking and balancing?
cause this deadfall was easy as anything and didn't take much time.
and I can reset it really fast now.
but I don't know if it's sensitive enough.
I know figure four deadfalls are SUPER sensitive though, and thats cool.

know any links that show you how to make them?
(and use ALOT of pictures??)
