MSG is a neurostimulant that stimulates taste via glutamic acid receptors. That is why it enhances flavor. It gives me a mild buzz, but then again, most artificial sweeteners except sucralose and acesulfame potasium give me headaches so I think I react differently than a lot of people. I don't buy into all the bad press it gets.

we formed the dough into personal sized pizzas before letting it rise after cutting the initially risen dough into chunks (if that makes any sense at all). it is fun and delicious, but like anything that requires dough, it is time consuming.

Cuban style pizzas often use barbecue sauce. It can be very good.

I had really bad BBQ pizza once that I'll never try it again.
