I just finished sharpening my DMCG, it took me almost 3 hours! The edge was shaving sharp when I got it, but got dull from whacking 2x4, dead trees, cutting thick tough rope, and batoning. The reason it took so long was because the left side was more obtuse and it took forever to even out with the sharpmaker. No diamond rods, and the roughest sandpaper I have is 1000 grit. Now it's pretty sharp, not shaving yet, but I have some strop compound on the way that'll touch it up nicely.

I never really received any packages that long ago. I remember my first package was when I ordered a special edition comic book issue of Sonic the Hedgehog when they introduced gold Sonic. Even then, I mailed in a check to the company first.

I never thought I wanted a knife bigger then the DM, but now I'm itching to get the DF. I wonder if/when Dan will release these again? They're a great price for the money. A little light compared to a similar sized Busse, but with the correct edge, It'd chop just as well.
