Er. Forgive the ignorance of the newbie here, but please verify that I'm on the same page here: There is a fellow named "Ban", who did custom work on Busse family knives, and he has stopped doing this, possibly because of discouragement from on high?

The mixing of proper nouns, nouns used as verbs, and nouns as adjectives makes it difficult to thresh out some context!

You can ruin the grips drilling out the tube rivets if it is not done right and a milling machine would be the best option.

What about using a drill press? I've heard of using ball bearings with a press made from a jack to attach them.

No way, you buy it, it's your knife, you can mod it all you want. From what I understand, once it's been modded, it loses the Busse warranty, so it's up to the owner's discretion. But no way Jerry Busse is stopping/discouraging Ban from modding, if anything it is boosting Busse's sales. Let me explain, Busse produces one of the most badass knife steel (INFI), but the obtuse edge isn't for everyone, but it's tough and easy to machine. So, now you throw Ban in the equation, you can have one of the best steel around with a beautiful, fully convexed knife (not his only mod, but one of the most requested). If you had money, wouldn't you buy a spare to mod? Seriously, check it out.

And don't even get me started on his Busse swords, choppers, gut hooks, pikals...it's really amazing stuff. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Looks like Ban does some beautiful work! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> However, as this is a BUSSE forum, let's show proper respect and handle questions concerning other knife brands for sale via p.m.'s. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Thanks! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

So, what did everybody do for their weekend? I ended up spending about $600 to fix my car, so there wasn't a whole lot of room in my budget to do anything but stay near home, fishing, and drinking some left over whiskey at night. still a good weekend. Caught a couple nice bass, one almost topping 5 pounds. They tasted some nice on the BBQ.

Set up a few beer trades Saturday. Sunday relaxed at home, did some grilling, and had a couple of beers. Next weekend going down to Zion to do a few canyons.

Beer trades? Get a little drunk, relaxed and start trading like crazy?

Zion, where's that? I've never done canyon climbing, not much in Canada that fills that description. Do you do freehand, or lines?
