There certainly seems to be a lot of pistol purchases following the election outcome.....are pistols under threat of legislation? I thought there was a recent court case where the courts defended the constitutional rights on arms....specifically pistols in that case.....so why the sudden "run" at the gun shops on pistols? Semi auto mil-spec rifles are more likely to be restricted are'nt they? Yet there are less posts about getting in while you can on these....what's the position?

My purchases of wheel guns had nothing to do with the elections, but I have noticed that, unlike a lot of businesses, gun shops have been busy. I think that there may be some fear that hard ecomomic times ahead may result in more crimes, so some folks are arming themselves. I'm not sure about where you live but here most AR15s are sold out. Still a good amount of handguns at the stores. Gun sells are up 10% or something nationally I believe. It's something that is not easy to explain. People are getting fired left and right, yet they can still manage to buy guns <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Citibank said that they are cutting 53,000 jobs in the next few months. GM is about to go down the drain if we don't bail them out...then again, they are throwing away 2, 3 billion each month just to stay in business. How much can 100 billion last? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> if GM does go under, it will affect at least 2.5 million people, which at this point is inevitable.

I was in a big new gun shop today, and I was the only one looking at revolvers. Ar-15s, Mini-14s, and defense shotguns seemed to be the rage. I have plenty of those type weapons. Luckily, this shop had a sale and free use of their indoor range today, so I was able to shoot my new 44 right there. First time I've ever seen an indoor range except on TV and the movies. I shot fairly well considering how out of practice I am.

From what I can tell, Mr. Obama is against any use of a gun which doesn't involve a deer, turkey, or sheet of paper. It's not only the "evil black rifle" owners that need to be worried.
