Random thought since I've been spending a lot of time looking at .410 shotguns lately.

For home defense, a tactical light is often a very good thing both to see where you're going and to blind anybody you're aiming at. It strikes me that something clever you could do if you're using a spreader choke with buckshot on your .410 is to match the tactical light's focus to the rate of spread on your gun, so that the light's hot spot matches the pattern you'd make at that range. Point and shoot. At ranges of 15 feet and less, a solidly mounted light is coaxial for all practical purpose. And LED lights still spill more than enough usable light off to the sides so you won't be half blind.

That's all I've got.

M22, I see you like the "black rifles". I'm kind of surprised you haven't posted a pic of the Israelis new rifle, the Tavor.

[Linked Image from homepage.mac.com]

It can be bought in 22lr, 5.56, 7.62, and I believe they're coming out with another cartridge model as well. You guys being in the States, you might be able to get the full auto model, as opposed to the semi-auto that us Canucks can put our hands on.

If you haven't seen the video yet, heres' the youtube link.

Israeli Tavor Assault Rifle

Last time I checked, they were available in Canada for the low price of $4,999.00 CAD...... a real deal, eh?

MAG22,
thats not a standard ar-15 mag & it says kel tec on the side

im guessing it is their prototype .308..looks like a FAL magazine

i can't tell if you're poking fun or actually thought i couldn't tell the difference. i was tryin to say i was glad to see another bullpup on the market. the f2000 was cool, but three times the price of the m17.

yes, FAL mags.

tavor's not really new, though i didn't know it was available in a 22. that's pretty cool.

i like a few bullpups and 22's, not really a 'black rifle' guy. don't much care for full auto, either. my favorite rifle's the m1 garand.

Well if we are talking favourites and military rifles I think the Cannucks have the best "system choice" of anyone....their PGW Timberwolf .338 and McMillan Bros .50 would be my choice....though I would rather have a HK MSG90 A1 with 20 round mags than the M16 variant they use as an alternative to an assault rifle.

my friend who lived in NJ told me that their laws are as bad as NY. I think VT is the only safe heaven in New england right now.

I would love to have a m1 Garrand one day but they almost doubled in price compare to some years ago...

Oh, and on a random thoughts, GM is asking 25billion so they can live thru 2009 O>O

Well the only way out for your economy there is to be as loyal as you can to GM cars....if the money goes in to keep US citizens working...then having the Toyota Camry as the best seller is'nt going to work...the US needs to look after it's own first....fortunately when it comes to knives and guns your up there as natural top choice...you just need to get the cars working as well as they do.

american car companies don't deliver value because they have union employees.

We went through all of this in the 70's.....f*** the Unions....if the workers want to keep the jobs then they need to get real.....so do the Union reps...if not...don't subsidise them....and see how they like it....the US tax payer has rights as well in this....our car Industry went bust for the most part in the 70'S AND DESERVED TO...a bunch of malingering workers making unreliable crap product....now our Nissan Plant in Sunderland beats the Japanese Plants on production and quality....Why?...because the workers in the old Pit area of the N.E. were hard workers...wanted to keep these new jobs...and took a pride in their work. British Leyland in the Midlands had years of sciving with Union protection behind them....now they have no work.

All Japanese investment in the UK seems to go into old industry areas which never did cars before....most of it Mining Areas...like the N.E. or Wales...no history of "shirking" in these parts.

If you mean the one in my Avatar....it came pre-done like that with a hack saw piece as a striker....I have a mixture of firesteels with handles which for the most part I got to match some knives and I have a few like the one shown which I got out of survival packs issued to me in our Forces...the handy thing with these is that you can change the colour of the leather lanyard to match a knife grip or sheath colour....you don't want to be caught out in the Wilderness without any proper colour co-ordination going on....
