Well... I'm still thinking about how beauty is depicted in photography, and thinking about whether there's a market for the way (unusual) way that I want to depict beauty, and thinking about how to handle marketing.

I'm also dwelling on love lost.

And you?

Beauty is a very subjective thing. Mothers holding their child is easy to classify as a beautiful topic, but it's not universally appreciated. Some people prefer nature, or cars, or starscapes. I'm thinking that the first decision you need to make is, are you making pictures for the lowest common denominator to sell a lot of prints, or are you making pictures for yourself and whatever small audience you can find. The constant artistic struggle between doing what you feel is actually art, versus what the teeming masses express a demand for. It's not like you can only do one for all eternity. Do a few pictures that appeal to the market, then do a few that appeal to yourself to keep your sanity.

*shrug*

Thanks.

Firstly, to be clear, I'm referring mainly to how I depict beauty in my people photography (though, the issue is whether I can market to clients portraiture with a nature photographer style).

beauty is in the eye of the beholder. which is a cousin of one mans garbage is another mans treasure. im not sure how the world of photography works, but id assume if you had "stock" photos you could sell them as a lot. i dunno a whole lot though.

evo all i know is your photos are AWESOME! while working we picked up a bunch of old outdoor photographer (its an old magazine and i may have the title a bit off) but your stuff is way more provacative than stuff on there. i think it has to do with the...i just lost the word...i suppose like the other night your work is more emotional than most nature photos (or it can be)
