The reason I ask is because a good friend of mine and soon to be business partner owns a company called GunButter. He and a couple other Boeing engineers came up with what is the most advanced gun lube on the planet. You can check it out at GunButter . It is slowly but surely becoming known amongst the elite competition shooters and hunters alike.

This stuff is amazing! The liquid lube will flow and get to all of the hard to reach places, but it won't run off of your gun and wind up in the bottom of your holster or carrying case like most lubes. It will withstand EXTREME cold and heat without any ill effects. It comes in a liquid lube and also a grease for sear hooks, locking lugs and things like that.

Even though it was formulated for firearms it works great on anything requiring lube. It will even put things back in working order that other lubes have failed to keep limber. I know I probably sound like some kind of snake oil salesman, but this stuff is truly amazing.

You won't see it in too many stores yet as it is only offered factory direct or from a few precision firearms dealers, gunsmiths, and at IPSC competitions and so forth. Part of the reason for that is it's cost. It isn't cheap!

Anyway, I'll throw in a bottle for you to use on your firearms, knives, and anything else you have that requires a good lube or protectant. Let me know what you think about it.

I'm interested in seeing those pics as well! I have a few SOG Seal 2000's and Tigersharks, but "Super Bowie"? Make sure you compare them to Yard knives!

I will definitely be comparing them PK. I also received a Tigershark, forgot to mention that . The "Super SOG" bowie is one of the prettiest knives I have ever laid me eyes on.

I received 3 Cold Steel (SK-5) Recon Scouts today; I posted in this thread a few days ago that they were clearance priced from SMKW at $40. Since they also offered free shipping for orders over $100 and I didn't really want an SK-5 Trail Master or Laredo Bowie (I have an abundance of Dog Fathers and Battle Mistresses, making the smaller CS more appealing), so I bought 3. I know -- they're Chinese and the steel isn't as good as Bussekin, nor are the handles as comfortable (although I think a paracord wrap would work well on them), but SK-5 seems to get pretty good reviews (it's equivalent to 1095) and at $40 they were a whole lot of knife for the money.

SMKW was sold out of Recon Scouts and Laredo Bowies the day after their catalog arrived, but I recall seeing that Mag22 got nearly as good a deal at BladeMatrix on a Trail Master (their Recon Scouts are $45.90 and appear to be in stock). Anyway, I'm happy with my purchase -- it was a relatively low-cost steel fix.

Tolly, congrats on getting a pair of SS4s. They're quite rare to come down with two at a time -- I'm a little bit jealous. However, I'm trying to rebuild savings before the next Knob Creek and pulling OT at work (uncompensated, of course, I'm salaried -- the joys of being in IT, although on the plus side, it's clean work in a climate controlled environment and the pay is better than any other job I've ever had), so I haven't been visiting the Exchange much lately. I believe the only common complaint about the SS4 is that it's no longer available.
