How long did it take for the SS4 to run out?
I will say it will take most of the evening.

SS4 2nd Offer lasted from ~8:56pm to 9:15pm CST (= 19 minutes)

BUT.. due to server/inventory glitch..

ONLY orders up to about ~8:59pm Actually got IN!

Everybody After that time received dread e-mails saying Sorry.

so in reality the "2nd SS4 Offer" lasted a mere 3 MINUTES !

No one knows for sure because of Authorize.net's screw up. Hopefully we won't have a repeat of that this time. But if I had to venture a guess, I'd say the SS4's were sold out within 5 minutes . . . 10 at the max!

I don't think it was that short. Because I got in pretty late. and I got one.

Although I'm sure that Dan has tried to eliminate obstacles and make plenty of DogFathers, I agree with Gravelface and say two days. I believe that the DogFather is such a great blade and an excellent value, that they will sell quickly, even IF nobody is greedy.
As I said before, don't "sit on the fence" on this blade - if you're looking for a "chopper" and an outstanding value do not hesitate! If you snooze, you lose!!! Good luck to all my Yard siblings! Tom

Well it depends. If Jerry posts an announcement on the Busse forums as he has in the past then it is going to be real quick. If not, then it is still going to be real quick, but just a little slower.

I think that Jerry will announce it, so I am leaning toward really, really quick. My guess: 52 minutes.

Okay,

I have an estimate as well. First, I want to explain my reasoning so be patient.

I looked at the poll #'s when everyone was surprised the Dog Father was superceded by the Scrapper 4. The number of people wanting a Scrapper 4 was about double that of the big chopper (unnamed at that time).

So my estimate is at least 2 times as long as the Scrapper 4s took to sell out. Since not everyone has an application for a knife like this...I'll say 1 hour, 22 minutes. It really depends on how many Dan made, how the purchase site works or not this time, and how many greedy ones are out there.

I predict 3 hours and 11 mins. If I'm right do I get the last one?

I think you're all wrong. Based on the fact that Dan posted the DF on BF, I think he expects to have it around for sometime, which means there should be a very healthy supply. I would guess at least a week worst case. Look at the Scrapper 6, it's still around and I think he will do that with the DF as well. It's not INFI so it's production is not limited.

Dan has said the Dog Father will be a regular production model, so the stampede will not be so bad.

I will be ordering one because the LE is what I'm waiting for.

It has to be more than 12 hours but it will probably be less than 2 weeks before they sell out.

Most of the hogs are somewhat depleted by now, the FBM, BATak and Christmas time extravaganzas have taken their toll.

I predict 8 days.

From your mouth to God's ears, Cobalt! But one quick correction. The S6 is NOT around and hasn't been around for as long as I've been here. So while an item may remain in production, there's no guarantee that it's going to be in stock.

true, but it was around long enough that anyone that wanted one got it. Since it is S7 there should be plenty to go around. Again if it was infi it would be there for 2 hours, but snce it is not, it will last for a while. I am guessing at least a week.

I think Dan would have done a disservice to everyone in here if he has such a limited supply that it lasts only hours after he posted on BF and let the Eprey traders in on it. I don't think he would have done that so I am betting that it will be around a while.

well as a matter of fact, I won't be ordering one tonight. I will be out so it will have to wait till late tomorrow sometime, but I am not even worried about it. If they run out, that will just give me more money for the next Busse offering in INFI, so no worries.

I hope it'll be a few days or at least long enough for me to snag one.

Hey oddball, what LE are you waiting for?

If we knew the supply and the demand, we could nail it. I do not want to suggest how we could make the buying drag out. I just can't

It's been over 9 hours since the DF went on sale and the Yard is still accepting orders. Way to go, Dan! I hope you sell a million of them and you become a jillionaire as a result.
Wow,
next day here, and they're Still "In Stock"!
Yet last night there was Record-setting # of max users online.

bld522, do we know how many SS4's were actually Made/Sold?

you know i'm think the total # of SS4s must be VERY Low!

shoot man.. that 2nd SS4 Offer must've been just a couple Handfuls.. literally.
