by the way the current leaders of the kayak search are the OK scrambler 11, emotion exhilarator, and bic scapa.

except for the scrambler 11, everything i like is hard to find or priced way over retail.

Ocean Kayak is very popular, they are good boats. Many rental places use them. Emotion is sold at Bass Pro and I'm not familiar with the bic.

What I did was get the opinions of people who really use their boats alot. That is what got me from the 120 to the Ride.

Many of the guys had 6 kayaks! Can you believe that? Anyway, different boats for different folks. The Ride does everything I need. If I could add another or trade...I might have a Mini-X (little thing) instead of the Tarpon 120 so my bases would be covered better maybe.



It has arrived, FBM CG with Armorall leather sheath. It was used but is still very sharp. Since it is INFI perhaps it will keep a good edge even on hard woods. I don't see why it wouldn't make a good camping knife or work for even a decenet length backpacking trip.

First thing I did after a little drooing was go and chunk it into my knife target, stuck it on the first throw.

found a yellow scrambler 11 for $550 shipped, new. wanted it in lime green, but that's a real good price.

Color isn't a huge deal really. Some say sky blue is the best color because that is what a fish would see looking up? Lol, I picked tan so I could use it duck hunting etc.

The one thing about the OK Scrambler is the foot rests make it where you do not have a flat platform to stand. Also, they can't be adjusted. Malibu, Cobra, Wilderness S all have adjustable foot pegs.

Just a fleeting thought, that would be a great boat though. Get what you want you know?

You won't be disappointed with any of the good brands unless you just really make a bad choice on an entry model.
