How is everyones day going so far? I hope well.

Mrpink, did you get some studying done? I saw where you were on late and made the comment that you needed to hit the books.

That's the problem I have when the computer is on. I get easily distracted. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

The test is in a couple hours and I feel pretty confident. It's my last exam until finals. I'll have a good relaxing weekend and some time to grind. I have this 10" section of A2 and I'm trying to decide what to do with it. Maybe my interpretation of a SAR knife.

well, oppprtunity shines on me......today at the trucking yard (we share with a cedar shingle making plant) i happened to look over at the shingle plant......what do i see? a conveyer belt that empties waste cedar shingles into a 40 yard waste bin. And i got an idea.......take those waste shingles, and my SOD and make kindling and bundle it up with newspaper and a small box of strike anywhere matches. Call it Carbon Neutral Kindling and sell it to the yuppies who eat the whole carbon neutral thing up....tons of new and old homes in my area of BC that have 1,2 or 3 fireplaces....sell small bundles for $5 each or a box of 6 for $25 CDN).

ZERO COST to me aside from time, which will be fun becasue i like splitting kindling.... an endless supply of west coast red cedar shingles. I bet i can even get the owner to PAY me to take the cedar, because currently he has to rent two bins a month, plus recycling fees to dispose of the waste shingles

its not a career but a spare time project which will raise extra money.

maybe you could charge the shingle plant for disposal, too.

and if there is one thing i know how to do its:

(ok a few things)

- make kindling, and make it fast
- NETWORK! i know people. Lots fo people, lots of contractors who who know lots of people, etc etc....

I even know the lead accountant (me uncle) of a major forest company....and he knows TONS of people.......i could brand their logo onto bundles of kindling and they could give it out as promos to their clients.....

SCORE! just scored a tree removal contract for mid sept 09......a big douglas fir......owner needs it down, its a hazard.

here is the best part...i told him i could buck up the rounds for firewood (he splits later) and he was very happy about that.

sitting here i just had another idea.....i could hand hew beams and planks for him as well...he is a carpenter with 5 houses that he works on (restores). I know there are at least 4 fireplaces that need mantles.....maybe a hand hewn fir mantle piece.....plus some garden benches.......
