yeah liloa was a chief who was said to have no wars or conflicts go on during his time. he also was given a sash and it has been handed down from generations and is at the bishop museum. supposed to be one of the oldest passed down artifacts they got. i know one person named liloa...another rasta nice guy. its how i learned about the names history.

The reason I know the name is because I believe that Ali'i was mentioned in my wife's geneology...someone in her family was Kahuna Nui and took care of Liloa...even after death.

My wife's ancestors were charged with the care of Liloa, even after death they were charged with the care of his body...they were Kahuna Nui...I believe it was Liloa that they were responsible for.

no she grew up in maui then moved to the mainland then moved back to oahu. i been on oahu all my life -3 years.

even she doesnt know where she heard the name from but said she knew it from a long time ago.

Yeah, it is really interesting. My wife's family on the Big Island compiled a HUGE binder of their geneology and family stories. Really interesting! The hardest part with Hawaiian geneology is that only verbal records were kept way back when and there was a lot of "fence jumping" going on <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
