It’s the hardest wood I’ve found around here. I tried chopping some with my Rats, and they kept bouncing off of it, it’s strong stuff. The piece I have is too big though, it’s like 2-3” thick and about 5-6 feet long. I need to trim it down narrower, but I guess I’ll have to do it by hand. I think he means like shotgun round shot. It’s finer than fishing shot. If you’ve never seen it, use a knife and cut open a shell sometime and dump it out. Here’s some pics of some Rats hanging in one by the thorns. You can see how strong it is when the small diameter thorns alone can hold they weight of a 1-2 pound Rat. A single thorn can support the weight of a Battle Rat through the lanyard hole. JYD #4
