yes but most campsites dont have the trees for that...hammocks are good for "backcountry" hiking with lots of trees...the southwest aint for hammocks...usually.

most hammock guys pitch a tarp over their hammock....and most guys have their hammock rig all set and just need to tie some knots to set it up!

We have a lot of trees on a few of our trails. We do some offroading occasionally, too, on a lot of tree-lined trails. Might be nice to throw some hammocks out for some relaxation mid day to get out of the Jeep for a while.

We took a couple celebrating their 50th anniversary out for a little celebration tonight. We basically ate a Waki for dinner. But, it was an excellent place.

i just google imaged some camping hammocks and i was really surprised at what i saw. very cool stuff...

i think i'm more of a hammock guy but i guess you can't really know until you are living it.

im hoping to encounter a bear on our trip so can see what they look like and just to measure one up. and to drown my fears.

yeah thats why i like backcountry camping....less people. i remember i stayed up half the night in canyonlands just star gazing....beautiful.
