Yeah, I am not really a camper, either, but a hammock would be a heck of a lot easier to set up. I just might be willing to do it more if it was simpler to set a base camp.

i dont like twist off caps....if had known that i wouldnt have bought it...BUT

its a bit of a sweeter IPA not as bitter as say longhammer from Red Hook...its not bad for 4.99 with a alc% of 6.0

setting up a hammock is VERY easy once you know how...and the advantage is not having the ground "steal" your body warmth. but i can set up a tarp tent with a trekking pole and a stick just as quick <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

if i lived somewhere that had lots of trees id get a hammock. heres a pic of me and my ol lady hiking the grand canyon...

[Linked Image from i262.photobucket.com]

i used a cheap sports authority bag with an adventure medical kits Thermolite bivy2.0, a Z-rest eggshell sleeping pad cut to 3/4, and that blue thing is some polyester thing i found at goodwill which is also very light. the tarp is a ponchotarp made of 1.1 silnylon which has also been seam sealed, its guyed out with my old trekking poles. sleeping pad doubles as a backpad for my pack!

i set that camp in about 5mins knots and all

the tarp was basically for privacy...the only sites left were by a trail...

That's cool. Hammock + tarp would be pretty comfortable, too!
