MCJ - Do you have any idea how the SOD compares to the Chopweiler? Are they similar beasts? I've had both and the SOD really fit my hand better but the Chopweiler is a great knife too. If I coud only have one I'd go with the Chopweiler I guess. SR101 is a plus.

For some reason, the chopweiler seems more accessible on the secondary market than the SOD, which is why I was wanting a impressions or pluses/minuses.

The chopweiler has the superior steel IMHO, but the SOD has the more comfortable handle for chopping. OTOH, the chopweiler's handles will be slightly more durable.
Considering the insane prices SOD's go for on the second hand market, the chopweiler looks a lot more attractive. I wouldn't own a SOD if I couldn't get it for regular retail price.

For you guys that were talking about the Spydercos and the Caly 3 - You've got to get a Spyderco Sage. I thinks it's the best bang for the buck folder they make. I have a bunch of Spydercos including the Tenacious, Para-Military and Military, Endura ZDP-189, Native 3, Dragonfly, Sage and others. The Sage is a sweet folder!
