You have to go CR and get inducted with me <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> We will both be JYD's by then.

Airfare shouldn't be too bad. Denver and Atlanta are major hubs, so there should be a lot of options. We shall see.

Just go with realistic expectations, and you will have a GREAT time at BLADE. The huge selection is the Busse blades, with fewer of the other two companies. From SY, I recall them having the Bird Dog, Mud Puppy, SoD (CG and LE), Regulator, and maybe a Yard Keeper or two. From SR, they had for sale the Vex, Chopweiler, some Mojo variants, some other small EDC sized blade (Hairy Carry maybe?), and I heard a rumor there were a few crash axes, that vanished within less than five minutes of the VIP doors opening.

Just keep that in mind before making the trip - there will be a great selection of Busse, and a decent selection of SR and SY, but you won't have 10 models of Yard knives to choose from.

That said, it's WELL WORTH the trip - great people, great knives, and if you aren't an idiot like me who lets his boss make him work BLADE weekend, great free food and drink.

Great level-setting advice, Double M. Where was that other event that they have annually? I have had a hard time googling anything useful about it.

You're probably thinking of Knob Creek - which is a big machine gun shoot, where the Busse gang also sets up a table to sell some knives.

Yeah, I bet I missed on google because I need to add gun terms to the search instead of knives. I might want to go to that event if the timing makes it more accessible for me. If so, I hope that they have a good variety in that booth as well, even though the event has a different focus.

Found it! Does anyone know if SYKCO go to the Knob Creek October shoot as well as the April, or just one of the two?

How much do most people bring to blade to spend on knives?

Sounds like it highly varies based on personal circumstances, wish list etc. For me, I would probably save up at least $1000, if I can, to buy some Bussekin while I am there.

I spent around 2k at the Busse booth, but two hundred or so of that was for knives that went to other people.

If the Wakis were for sale, I would have easily spent another 800.
