People are reluctant to let go of superstitions.

Pro Photographers are very rigid about photography and how its done. Its considered blasphemous to do it any other way. I get berated a lot by several pro photographers because for all intensive purposes, i am a "point & shoot" photographer with ZERO training in photography, terms, etc etc. I just find a subject I like and take a picture of it. (like many things in my life, I'm completely self educated)

Some of these pros have been quite receptive, but most seem to not entertain my ideas, and in many cases, not even comprehend them.

You will win the day, Evo. I imagine that the most difficult thing is to be patient while people try to hurl darts at your concepts, and try to remain polite in the dialogue so as not to provide them with any tempting snippets that they can use against you (a.k.a. entrapment). It's probably highly political, just like most other professional ventures. Why does everything have to be that way?

However, in an unrelated online discussion, they all agreed that I had the most horrifyingly disgusting tale to tell, when we compared our grossest experiences during photo sessions.

It does have a political aspect, in that some of these people are in positions to advance (or otherwise) my career.

There have been darts hurled at my concepts, and then there have also been a number of personal digs.

I have found in "Left 4 Dead" that the auto shotgun works quite well against general zombie onslaughts, Evo, for what it's worth.
