Evo, fill me in on that post you were referring to! P-Easy, it's on page 757. Page numbers for us do not match. I only view 20 posts per page, so I am almost at page 2000!
Enjoy every sandwich.

I think you'll love the High Street, Clint - I could do without the choil, but I've come to accept that with Busse knives. Both of my HS's came with the typical 35 degree Busse butter knife edge on them - tried to hand convex one but was having trouble getting a burr on the INFI by hand, which is a large part of why I snagged my belt sander - easier to control the angle when the motor is doing most of the work.

P! Glad to see you are Ok. Welcome back!
EC - I feel that same kind of excitement about the Chopweiler due in tomorrow. My mail delivery is later in the day, and signature is required, so I need to be sure to get here in time.

I've sharpened a couple of knives on the sander - I don't tend to mess around with these things, and jump in head first. My first knife on the sander was a ka-bar becker necker. My second was the Muk you sold me.
I'll probably hit my High Street first once the new belts come in, then maybe the NMSFNO and the Zilla.
I've been using power tools pretty much since I could walk, including a lot of delicate work like lathes and whatnot, so I tend to completely ignore the "practice on something you don't mind ruining" advice. It USUALLY doesn't come back to bite me in the butt, but once in a while... MM how did the belt sander work out? Did those blades turn out good? I'm thinking of getting a habor freight sander and was curious.

Man, I need a new knife. The only thing I have coming to me is the Boker Wharcom, and it's still processing. I am spoiled by live human interactions.
I'll take it, ok I will ship tomorrow.
Enjoy every sandwich.

I didn't have a proper belt selection, so I reprofiled them using a 120 grit belt, and worked up a good burr, then went to the mouse pad and sandpaper with 1000 grit paper to knock the burr off, followed by hand stropping on leather loaded with compound.
Both blades easily shaved hair after the sharpening, but the edges weren't as pretty as when I hand-sharpen them for hours, stepping through lots of different grits.
I also rounded the point of the Muk off a little bit, which is kinda sucky, but then again it didn't have much of a point on it to start with. That's why you don't start with the killa zilla though, right?

MM sounds like you got a good edge on them.
I've been trying to reprofile my Bird dog LE with not much luck, that stainless is some hard steel.
