I received a custom shop knife with no edge, about 7 or 8 years ago. Kassi accidentally mailed it to me before Jerry finished it. They corrected this, of course.

My Scrapper 6 came with almost no edge.

Yeah, JB. I am getting close, and so is Simon. It has all gone by very fast. I can't say that I have contributed a lot of enrichment to the forum, but I am learning a great deal from everybody as I get ready to receive my first SYKs. I am really looking forward to getting the S5 in hand for use. The SYKCO production cycle process is a good model, as it let's everyone get an opportunity at the blades, and time to save up for the next one, but it requires a little patience from the new consumer.

i've had good and bad edges from Busse. it happens. it's true that if you're paying that much for them, they should come sharp. it's kinda like a luxury car should come with a full tank of premium fuel.

that said, it's not really a big deal. you will eventually need to touch up that edge. sometimes the edges are left obtuse deliberately to withstand use by idiots who will never sharpen them correctly or at all but will throw a fit if the edge rolls or chips.

my double cut dumpster mutt was sharper on the spine than the edge.
