Hey, Bushy, that pic sure does seem a little grainy. yea......I have the cam Sharpness set on HARD, and then in post edit (KDE SHOWFOTO) i bumped it up another 10 notches.....). Plus the concrete behind it is grainy as heck too....(in real life) learning experience! Oh, btw, the background in those pics is right out of the camera. I only adjusted the size and color in Photoshop. A 200/1.8 has a depth of field of less than an inch or so at the range. A nice macro lens will do a similar effect if you are close enough and shoot with the aperture wide open.
