Man, I thought I had snagged me a DFLE, but I missed it. Oh well. Bad thing is the post above my take it was edited from one thing to another during the time I was posting mine.

Sounds like some of us are having the same kind of day--bah humbug!

I had to replace my tires too recently, they are expensive for the truck. 1300 later I am covered though and even got the insurance. Still makes you sick spending that kinda dough on rubber.

So what is the most effective knot style for making lanyards?
I've always just used alternating squareknots over a looped cord. If there's a better one I wouldn't mind hearing about it/them.

I thought I was the only one who did that. I'm also prone to putting caesar salad dressing in pasta sauce if it's tomato-based instead of cheese-based.

It sounds like your testing facilities ought to be underground in the middle of a desert, to damp out temperature changes and noises from humans clattering around!

High end materials science kind of annoys me. It's great and all that we're coming with all these great materials that can do anything you need, but they rarely last anywhere near as long as simple stuff. The tolerances are so fine or the makeup so bizarre that high tech stuff just breaks quickly. How many applications of your nano-polymer-film will still be functional a couple decades from now?
