How long does it usually take for you to receive your blade after you place your order?

Thanks Vox.

What do you think about the handle lentgh? It appears to be about ~.5" or so shorter than a Yard Guard handle and that one feels good in hand.

i think the handle length is the same on all fo them isn't it?

also it really doesn't matter, a thinner knife can cut just as good as a thicker one... its all in the edge.

so don't worry about the thickness.
you might want to talk to rainwalker, or leatherface for carry(piggyback maybe) options.

they're both great sheathmakers, and you can see some of their work on the forum.

goodluck with SYKC, you might also want to consider swamprat, and if you have the money Busse.

they're all related to scrapyard.

a little more pricey though.

I've been shopping for these knives for some time. The SY knives offer the most bang for the buck IMO. I had almost pulled the trigger on a Ranger RD7 then I read a lot about the comfort level of the knife handle and how much better the Res-C handles are for chopping. So I opted to try and find a Yard Guard (If you know of one for sale LMK). SR and Busse are a little too expensive for me right now. Perhaps in the future I could justify the expense for a one. For now I'll just listen to the glory stories and check out pics from others.

yeah, some people like comfort in a knife(not really me) just in a machatte or axe, butrangers are one of my favorite knife brands.

yeah i didn't know if you knew about SR or busse.
scrapyards are the most bang for the buck.
for sure.

Welcome.

I have a Yardkeeper and like it very much especially after thinning the edge.
The MuttLE is very similar so I would take whatever one you can get the best deal on. I also am a huge fan of the Hookguard which for some reason did not get as much love as the other scrappers but I like it even better than the DF. You can probably get a Hookguard which is exactly the same as the Yardguard but with a bottleopener ,from the Yard just send an Email. It is going to be hectic here so it might take a while to get back to you. I think the hooker is the perfect sized big knife and the recurve makes it almost as good a chopper as the DF.
