If I am in a knife fight ...things have gone horribly wrong! And I would like to know how many folks actually know how to use the hook effectively and also how many folks here have ever been in a "knife fight"

i'm embarassed to admit i have been. All i can say is i couldn't reccomend getting stabbed in the face to anyone. and i have a good idea how to use the hook -- give me that mojo and a nice bottle of porter and watch me work!

We need a 5/16" (or thicker) SR-77 BOWIE!!! (Written back in early '07 -- Regulator Premonition?)

Once again, right on Paddling_Man ! Only difference is that I would be reaching for my 9 mm.

You know, when I first learned about those blade catches, I was wondering how in the heck you'd ever "catch" their swinging blade in there. But thinking about it now, I guess it would be more useful if you are grappling with your opponent and get hold of their wrist. Then you could use that hook to wrench the blade out of their hands.

Is that how they're designed to be used?

I'd still just use it as a bottle opener.

That MoJo 9 would be super sweet without the catch.....Mine is coming off!
"i'm embarassed to admit i have been. All i can say is i couldn't reccomend getting stabbed in the face to anyone."

Was it by anything near the size of a 9" blade or a small everyday carry type?

A thin-bladed fishing knife, thankfully -- i guess it can always be worse!!
