I was playing around on multiline BBS's long before Al Gore brought the internet into everybodies homes. Yup, yup. Me too. Back in the dark ages of computer communication. Started with my 25 mhz computer with 2 megs of RAM, and a 2400 baud modem. No fancy graphics either, only ASCII and ANSI.

So you like to be called pretty do you? As opposed to "ruggedly handsome".

Wow, sounds like a supercomputer! My first home computer was really home made, it was a Heathkit H8. It had a 1 mhz 8080 CPU and 8 Kb of ram, which I later expanded to 64 Kb. You can do a lot with 64 Kb if you write in assembler.

Small countries ran on Apple II's with 64 Kb of RAM. Yeah, I used that one too. I started with computers in 1985 at the age of 5. The one I mentioned was the 1st one that we bought in 1992 that I used in my BBS days.

mmmmmm 20mb hard drives. I remember when I came home with a new computer running a 486 DX2 at 50mhz with 400mb of harddrive and a 14400 model. My dad thought I was the schnizzle.

Our first home computer was a 486 Dx2 33Mhz with a massive 170mb hard drive. That was a middle of the road model when we bought it. Bors

Prior to hard drives we used 8-inch floppys for mass storage. The 5.25 inchers did not hold enough to be considered "mass" storage. The first hard drive I ever had held 5, count them 5 megabytes. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. As I recall they were called Winchester drives, but I don't know if that was the brand or where else that name came from.

I hated that ours didn't have enough RAM to play Doom. But at least Wolf 3D worked with it, which came on a big 5.25" floppy disk.
