I am glad to hear about you Jeep! If it were my Land Rover the bill would have been around $3,000. That is why I intend to get a Jeep Rubicon when the time comes. I am getting sick of my Landy's expensive problems. I love it, but it is not worth it.

You have your baby back, but may I suggest a stickum for the sock smell?

One of the guys who let me borrow another tow strap has a Land Rover. A very nice setup at that. They are very funtional vehicles on the trail. I hear you on repairs though. I have some friends who have old Land Cruisers and they put some serious cash in to parts.

In my 2002 Discovery I have had to change the brakes every 15,000 miles.... All four! I finally had them put American brakes (can't remember the name but they are harder than the British brakes) as the British brakes were too soft. Then there is the crappy job they did with the spark plugs, the air intake hose splitting in two, the fan belt getting shredded, the ABS ligh, Traction Control Light and Down Hill descent light that decides to come on every now and then chimming three times to hearld its arrival, they want $2,000 to repair the last three...... Oh and the stupid leak on the passenger side under the dashboard that gets the floor wet....... From a car wash..... They can't even find the leak and this is a common problem on the Discoveries. And this is meant for off road IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. Other than that it is pretty to look at. I can't imagine being out in the Sahara and needing to replace my brakes and everyhting else.

We use a Defender 110 in Kenya and beat it to hell. I have never seen any repairs on that thing except for a light being replaced because my boss backed into a tree.

Yup, the Rubicon is looking better!

My dad has a black Rubicon with the same suspension stuff as mine. Note, he did not get stuck in the river.

Hey Jeeps,
You probably know this already but the Rubicon is a river...and crossing the rubicon is an expression that means reaching the point of no return. Pretty crazy coincidence, no? Well, I found it humorous anyway

Good to hear your Jeep isn't totalled. Sometimes fun has a price tag...glad it wasn't too awful for you.

I knew it was a trail but not a river. That is pretty ironic.
