I feel for Dan - I really do - couldn't have been an easy thing to go along with - and I'm kinda upset that Jerry would put Dan in this position...

I don't like it. I give business to the Yard, the Swamp, and Busse Combat - I'm not a "Hog," in part because I can't afford that much INFI!

Bruce makes great points. Jerry said this: "This IS NOT a Busse Combat blade and should be posted on the Scrap Yard forum." about the Dogfather. Not a Busse Combat blade, but Busse Combat Hogs get first whack at what I think is an exceptionally cool LE Scrapper.

Any one of the many deep pocketed Hogs could snatch up 10-15 of these babies at a time (unless they're saying "one each" or something - which would be the least that could be done in the name of fairness on such a limited run) - and I have a feeling that they will be gone inside of the minute. 99% chance that no Dogs that aren't Hogs will score...

I just read the post at BF. I'm not impressed.

I'm a "Scrap Pup Wannabe" who DOES shell out for a Busse when I can - [censored] they are expensive, but I have 2 (BATAC and CGFBM) and a 3rd (ASH1) on the way... I guess I don't really appreciate the "second class citizen" mark when I have spent over $1k on Busse Combat knives and about $800 on Scrappers (yet still won't get a shot at this one)... This rubs me wrong - in a serious way.

Maybe we can find a Hog whose loyalties lay with the Yard who can buy up all 50 of them and then have an unsanctioned Dog Bowl sale! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> Dan gets his Blue, Dogs get the Scrappers, and Hogs can have their INFI.

i think any Hog that would do that for us would be sent to the slaughterhouse.......

i didn't check that thread about us bein second class. having three battle mistresses when i had only one dumpster mutt would make me more of a hog than a dog, yet i spend my time here because we don't say things like that.

as for Dan, i don't blame him at all. the concept behind scrap yard is that we get Jerry's leftovers. No one should be sour about this since they could have easily left the logo off and not sanded down "BUSSE" from the res-c grips. you guys forget that was on there? don't forget that's Jerry's heat treat, too.

i do have to agree with dice, it wasn't very nice for Jerry to put his brother in this position. Jerry, however, is not active on this forum so he probably isn't aware of the community thus i don't blame him either.

still, he should have just left the grips with "BUSSE" on em and ignored the logo if he was doin this for the hogs.

I'm off to post in the busse forum.

i have a hard time believing that people find this disagreeable purely on principal. i don't mind because i don't like the knife. these are Jerry's knives, they just have Dan's mark.

if you're upset because you want one, i can completely understand that. if you're upset that hogs get first pick of a scrap yard product, i can find no logical premise to support the assertion that it's wrong, immoral, unethical or whetever else you many have.

finally, i think it's a bit self righteous and petty to start up and point the finger at Dan and Jerry. they're brothers sharing business, methods, materials, and probably labor. Jerry's done Dan a lot of favors to get this company going, now Dan's givin something back. You know how much money you make selling only fifty units? it's hardly worth the effort.

Mag - if there was a bunch of knives coming down the pipe for everyone here in the Yard to snatch up, it wouldn't be an issue at all (really). For Die Hard Dawgs who have "survived the drought" - and this being the ONLY serrated Scrapper that I'm aware of - Scrapyard collectors are directly cut out of a very unique offering. Dan and Jerry and who-owns-what aside, it feels like a slight to Scrapyard Customers as being less important than Busse Customers - regardless of the interworkings of the Busse Kin. It is the principle of the thing that gets me - along with the fact that its a very unique and interesting Scrapper.
