Thanks for all the support, How long do the knives usually take to ship after the confirmation reciept?
itxploded, I'll keep you mind in case I'm not happy. With all this enthusiasm, I doubt that happen.

For those of you in the US I would not be surprised if some people close to Texas get their next week. I also would not be surprised if ones being sent to places like Fort Bragg got bumped to the front of the line.
Sorry to hear you missed out Itxploded. No one was prepared for it to sell out that fast. Because of the popularity of this one I bet that you could get a YKLE for the same price as a YKCG on the secondary market.

how does something that is limited edition last so long and a cg goes in less than an hour.
i realize that the dfle cost a lot more and that will affect how fast it goes.even the dmle lasted a few days didnt it??
its crazy how this works.this is why i treat every release like the ss4 and dont waste no time.sure glad i got one.i think it will be my favorite one from the yard.
my question is did they just not make many or did a whole bunch of outsiders just suck'em all up.we will never know

I think there can't have been that many also that lots of us bought multiples. That would be an interesting poll and would give us a clue? There was not a lot of lead time either for a lot of people to find out. It is going to be a [censored] fine knife. Like the Swarden I wish i had bought more.

Well, one way to think about it is this: How long has demand been building for Scrap Yard knives? Then Dan turns around and released a great little EDC at a really attractive price! I am surprised they lasted as long as they did. I bet there was a big pile of blades!
JYD#10 Blade '08 - I challenge coined Dan Busse and WON! Blade '10 - The score is now 2-0!

It's simple economics, Dan created a disign that is popular with many groups( including the rats that want to remember the old days) and priced it so it can be within the reach of many. Think of it as a "gateway" knife to the yard. Just like how to scrapper 6 was. People will buy this knife as their first scrapper because of the price and allaround disign then buy more as they come out. Also since the release the forum has been booming. anyway you look at it the yard wins more people in our community and Dan got more attention with this release maybe in a few years the yard will be as big a Busse Combat

Seems to me they're making all the right moves. I need more knives like I need more holes in my head, yet I jumped on the last two releases. Brilliant marketing to make so many folks do that.
I thought the YK would last longer too, but like I said, they must be doing something right.
It will be interesting a few years from now when we look back at what's been released and if anything has been re-introduced or gone into regular production. I really feel like I've gotten in on the ground floor of something great here. Wish the factory was here so I could go and apply for work.
