i think it's fine for average citizens to own assult weapons. i would be ok with, and in fact favor of, requiring saftey and use courses so people would be proficient before being allowed to own any type of firearm.

i also think that when you seperate from the army, they should let you keep your weapon. that's what I call homeland security. i once hung out from a guy from switzerland in a bar and he told me all about their mandatory military service and that everyone has an assult rifle in the home.

some would make the arguement that burglurary(sp) might rise in order to steal the weapons, but would you break into a house knowing the owner and all his neighbors are armed?

Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms should be a convenience store, not a Government Agency. JYD.45

I don't know a lot about it but there is curently a bill I belive it's still in the works thats being called the "Veteran's disarmament bill". In short I believe the that if you have been diagnosed with a mental disorder such as PTSD or depression you would loose your rite to own guns and would have to surrender them.

Presumably it would also include any veteran of the past who has been diagnosed as well.

JYD#14 Do you need one, of course you do it's a knife and you like knives.....
