I voted s-7, but I'd love to see that recurve that I saw a picture of from a knife show that Dan had several prototypes at (sorry Pitman, always loved the recurve)

I'm too drunk to taste this chicken

My bet is that is is the whole cutting out of a jeep thing.

To the best of my knowlage* that is the only** story where A Busse family blade truly made the difference in saving someone's life and limb. and with out a question there are a VERY few blades that can take that kind of beating....... and survive.

* yes rather limited
** there could well be others but they are all classified

Yard Hook

$119.95
The Yard Hook features a 7” long blade of Scrap Yard SR 77 steel mated with a hand-filling, ergonomic Resiprene C handle. The Yard Hook is ready for heavy abuse in the harshest environment. The blade catch located in front of the integral thumb ramp provides an extra level of protection when the Yard Hook is deployed as a fighter. This wide body re-curved blade is equally effective in both a wilderness environment and a combat zone. The gentle re-curve of the primary edge has been proven throughout history to draw objects in towards the cutting edge.
Specs at a glance:
Steel: SR-77
Hardness: 58 - 60 Rc
Handle: Resiprene C Thickness: Approx. .280"
Blade Length: 7”
Overall Length: 12”
Yard Guard

$119.95
The Yard Guard shares most of the features of its kissing cousin the Yard Hook. It does not feature integral blade catch thus giving it a lower profile and making it less obtrusive for many camp side chores.
Specs at a glance:
Steel: SR-77
Hardness: 58 - 60 Rc
Handle: Resiprene C Thickness: Approx. .280"
Blade Length: 7”
Overall Length: 12”

The greatest 7 inch blade I have!!! What a champ his thing is!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />

The slowest moving blades in Scrap Yard history...the SEVEN inch blades. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

Why does everyone ask for a seven inch blade when Dan has done that already? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

The recurve? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />

Not a good enough answer,I'll bet his thinks long and hard before he releases another 7 inch boat anchor. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

I'm betting on a smaller user for the next release,
I think it will take a while befor Dan sees a reason to have his inventory sit in a shelf for 3 months.

Peace.

With all due respect David, I think that a lot of buyers just don't like recurves. I am not one of them, but the same thing happened to the Swamp Rat recurves. I think a Scrapper 7 would sell out nearly as fast as the YK did.

Today I was looking at my Scrapper 6 and Ratmandu. It occured to me that a 5.5" RMD style blade on the SY big handle would be great. Some of us have big hands, and the Busse Basic and Scrap Yard small handles are a little cramped for us. So what about a Scrapper 5?

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.
