PoP,
She did come home last night with a new carbine. A Marlin camp carbine, in 9mm. $250, with a box of ammo and a case thrown in. Her first independant gun purchase; I was quite proud.

WOW Roo!!!

I am proud of her as well! What a super bride you have there! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I long for the day when my beloved and I can enjoy such times. You must be bursting at the seams with pride!
You should be too!<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Way to go Mrs. Rooikat! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />

Peace.

Hey Pop,
You can't go wrong with a 10/22. If WI law permits you can put a folding stock, hi-cap banana clip, and red dot sight on it and have a bunny assault rifle. If you watched "Holy Grail" you already understand just how deadly attack bunnies can be.

That aside, if you want an old-school .22 pistol, the Ruger Bearcat is a lot fun. You could probably pick one up "previously owned" at a gun show for a good price. Single action, has an extra cylinder for .22 mag, and is really comfortable to shoot. Plus you can get a gun belt/holster and look like a real cowboy while defending the corn fields! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I really like my 10/22. Lots of accessories available everywhere. Growing up my dad had a Ruger Single Six (not sure of the difference between the single six and bearcat. They look very similar) It was a blast to shoot and had the 22 magnum interchangeable barrel. It is on my list of things to get one of these days.

More than you ever wanted to know here...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruger_10/22
http://tinyurl.com/34hjfh

It's a rifle, but for $261 list (new and used for much, much less elsewhere... see tinyurl above), it is one of the most versatile, customizable, and fun .22 rifles you can find anywhere. Highly recommended for anyone on a budget who wants a quality kick in the pants.

The links at the bottom of the wikipage are a good start for more info.

Here's ya a good resource website PoP. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

http://www.ruger1022.com/

I'd trust my 10/22 over just about any 22 pistol. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
