hey, I asked this before but, I know the yardkeeper handles are smaller than the DFLE handles, but I never knew there were different sizes. is it just small (like the yardkeeper) and regular handles? (like the DFLE) or do all the knive shave different sized handles, like maybe the s6 and yardhookhook have medium sized handles and the DFLE bigger and the Yardkeeper smaller? I've been wondering about this since I got my yardkeeper.
pics would help. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

As far as I have seen there is just big (DF,YardGuard) and small (Yardkeeper,DMLE).
Be prepared.......It is more than a motto it is a way of life.

There are only 5 handel size/style in the Busse family for Res-C.
Plain Large- DFCG DFLE S6 S6LE YH YG also the old swamprat CT and BR all have the same size handel and the Busse tali-wacker I think
Plain Small-the YK YKLE DMLE UK(urban keeper) and the old swamprat HR BC and PR(paul's rachet), oh and the HR variant with teeth
Basic Large- Busse Basic 7 and 9
Basic Small- DMCG and Busse Basic 3 and 5
Mudder- the SS4 and the Swamprat bogdog
To the best of my knowlage that is it. No other Res-C handled blades I know of.

okay, thanks. are the basics the same size as the plain handles? just wondering, cause people say the basics on the Dm are too small, but arn't they the same size as the Yardkeeper handle? (which everyone seems to like) is it because the DM is a bigger knife?

I haven't handled the Basic just the plain so I can't comment on size differeances if ther be any. I bet you are right the DM is a 5 inch blade and the YK is just 3-4 inches long

The handles of the DMCG and the YKCG are both 4 3/8” long. Their shape is similar, looking at them side by side, and when looking down at the spines of the blades. Both handles are both too small for my hands. There should be no meaningful difference. But there is. It’s a subtle difference, but my fingers recognize it. The Mutt crowds my fingers in use, in a way that the Keeper does not. Or rather, the Mutt handle crowds my fingers more than the keeper handle does. Holding each knife in a saber grip, my little finger rides on the rear flair. It rides easier holding the Keeper. For all their similarities, I’m more comfortable handling the Keeper than the Mutt.
I don’t understand it. If I could figure out what the difference is, I might explain it better. The best I can say is that though they look similar to my eyes, they feel different to my hands.

I think the Mutt/basic handles are thinner than tan the small res-c also the res-c handles flare more. The MuttLE has the big choil to help deal with the small handles. I don't think the basic handles are RES-C ,they are more rubbery. I have small hands but holding the YKLE and the MuttLE in either hand the MuttLY does feel a bit smaller. The Muttle and YKLE(after a good sharpening) are both fantastic knives that are not as popular as they should be.
