yeah, and once that first check gets in (still another two weeks!!!!) i'll order myself that spalted maple piece i posted. gonna hot rod that baby with a few choice aftermarket parts. then me n dice meet in vegas for the battle of the singlecut guitars. that elitist will probably still win, but i'll give em hell before it does!

The Elitist may prove the superior guitar - but I don't stand a chance playing it against you in a duel, even if you're rocking a $100 bottom of the barrel Danelectro. The player is more important than the instrument - and my Elitist is much more than I really need in terms of quality!
I thought we were meeting in Vegas to go to Ed Roman's shop - I didn't know it was a challenge!

I'm sure you'll have a good time.
Take video. We're hoping to be gig ready in a few months. We've got about 7 solid (original) songs right now - working on 2 new ones at the moment. We need to hit the studio after that - as the crappy recordings from myspace do us no justice what-so-ever!

I'm a very decent rhythm guitarist - as good as anyone that I've ever come across - I can confidently say that - but I'm a novice when it comes to playing lead. I've never even attempted until recently.

I've noticed that. I've had some great little solos - particularly in the stuff that I write that I can "feel" - but I've never sat down and learned scales or any of that garbage. Its coming - slowly, but surely. I impress myself sometimes - other times, I'm way off!

well the last pic I took of my gear is this one its missing a bit now, but thats still my core set up. doesnt do a great job of showing it off but I have a Fender Tornado and a Cort G255 (back when they still had EMG pickups). I run it all through my Randall rg75 g3 or my little marshall practice amp (mainly the randall). I also have an art and lutherie acoustic with a custom paintjob in the back of that pic, but of course you cant see that. Maybe in time ill take a couple more pics to better show off my gear but I've been too busy playing it to do that recently

Good stuff Snook! I had an Art Lutherie - its the one I mentioned on page one that is on permanent loan to a buddy of mine. I actually had a luthier fit a bone bridge piece in it - great guitar for the $100 or so that I paid for it about ten years ago! I'd love to see that Gold Fender from the front if you have any more pix. I've never been a Fender man, really - but I'll give them their full credit as being great axes. I always wanted a Fender Jazzmaster - up until the day I played my first Les Paul! I'd still like to get one if the price is right... Sunburst, for sure. I've almost gotten a Randall amp on a couple of occasions, and ended up doing something else instead. One time I got a Rogue 2x12 combo (eh... never again!) and the other time I ended up getting my Laney 1/2 Stack (which I'm very happy with).
Good to see another guitar player who is a knife addict as well - or vice-versa.

I dont have any more pics of the fender on hand, but google is my friend fender I have looks like this but instead of those p90s it has fender atomic humbuckers (fenders hottest pickup) The tornado was made as a direct challenger for the les paul sound. While it doesnt exactly get it, it gets a sound that goes somewhere in between fender and gibson and amazingly smooth, I really do love it and would play it full time if it wasnt so freaking heavy
