sitting between a wall of guitars and a drawer of knives, i wondered what i'd trade between each side. I'd trade a good chunk of my knives for a PRS Singecut. I'd trade a couple of my guitars for an FBMLE. didn't realize before typing that, but they are equivalents in their domains. i think if it came down to one or the other, i'd have to go for the singlecut. i'd use it a whole lot more and it does cost four times as much.

They are conflicting addictions for me as well. I could pretty easily unload my CGFBM, DFLE, DM, MOD, CG Keeper, and ASH1 - those are my Mint Busse kin blades. I could come out w/ $1250 pretty easily on those - at a loss, of course. Maybe more like $1500 if I included the sheaths for all of them. If I unloaded half of my SAKs and Spydies (to include a big Manix and Lil' T - both mint), I could get up to $2000 total pretty easily. That would bring me back from the realm of "collector" to "user" (I've still got a pile of user knives!) - and I could snatch up a PRS Custom22 or a Gibson LP Standard with just a few hundred bucks on top of my knife sales.

Its tempting - really really really is... Luckily, I'm very happy w/ my Elitist, and know that those knives will continue to be worth the same if not more money down the road. Maybe when I graduate law school in a few years I'll sell some steel and throw in a few grand and get myself a '59 Burst Re-issue - depending on how Gibson does in the next few years...

EXACTLY!!! i could dump my sage ffbm, the dfle, the swarden, rtak, a couple him imps, and quite a few folders. could get me half a singlecut. could pay for an entire RGA121 prestige. i'd keep my saks, they won't get you much on the secondary market anyway.

True. I could part w/ my Lil' T - for at least $150. I think I'd keep the ASH1, but would easily be able to sell the CGFBM - probably about $400 for that. I could part w/ my mint Mutt as i have two of them. I could let my Hook go - its almost mint - I scraped under the hook opening a beer w/ it. Thats about $800 worth. I don't think I'll be doing it any time soon - but its something to ponder...

I havent played my Bass for over a month because of my messed finger. I'm gona suck for awhile, actually I'm gona suck for longer. I have to get used to not being able to feel the string under that finger, but heck even Jerry Garcia was missing a finger.

It was at least 50 degrees outside - everything was melting - nothing to worry about! I did think about that, though. I figured that the snow would be a perfect backdrop, and I won't have too many opportunities to take pictures on a warm day with snow!

i've been spending pretty liberally on the knives lately. inda detracts from my chances of a new singlecut. that prestige ibanez is every bit as good a guitar. drop in a pair of dimarzio breed, and it's probably the better instrument. won't know till i try it, though.

ia pair of breed would also make the sg standard a killer guitar. it would still need real tuners in place of that plastic crap that gibson uses.

i was tempted to get that white epiphone g-400 from music123 and drop in a pair of invaders.
