Does anyone own a Para Ordance pistol and can give a review?

I don't own one and it really annoys me that I can't legally own a Canadian made gun. I think they moved to Florida though. They are first rate pistols ,mostly .45 clones and some subcompacts. They had a trademarked action of some sort that made them a cut above the other colt clones and the fit and finish is good. Expensive.
I probably would not really want one if they were not Canadian. Kimber Canuk?

I came close to getting one of their warthogs, this last go around. Only the instant availability of the bulldog and thunder ranch prevented it. I have seen them at shows, I was always impressed.

Sold a few Para Ords back in my retail days, never had any complaints. Always heard they were quite accurate, but have read about some issues with the alloy frame models cracking. Probably best to research that on your own though, you know how internet commandos can be.
As for .40 and 10mm, I've had both at one time or another, and they both have their place. If you can afford to feed a 10mm and can get past the extra muzzle flip/recoil that's the way to fly. Just be sure to get one that's strong enough to reload to the cartridge's potential as most factory ammo these days doesn't do it justice.

I have an early P13.45 so my review may not help you much. Back in the day it was considered a very decent firearm.
The barrel on mine was just terrible - very rough lands. The barrel in my P13 is ramped so it does have occasional issues with some bullet shapes. Slide to rail fit was just OK, not tight but not the worst I've ever seen either. The trigger was OK out of the box, but definitely not "breaking glass" quality. I spent a lot of time dry firing the P13 to work in the trigger. Net, net it was reliable and shot 3" groups at 25 yards with factory FMJ ammo so it was an acceptable firearm for me.
For about the same money you can get a Kimber. If you haven't checked out the Kimbers you owe it to yourself to handle one before deciding what to purchase.

I have had 2 Glock 20's and a witness in 10mm
10mm is the ONLY reason to consider a Glock!!
Glocks are the better gun (simply because XD doesnt come in 10mm YET!!), but the witness worked very well after I got in broke in good

I always thought 10mm would be a fantastic subgun round. The kick would not be as bad in a heavier weapon you hold with both hands and a longer barrel could make the most of the increased range and power of the 10mm cartridge.
In many ways every company has teething problems with the first few products. The first few Scrappers had lousy edges and big gaps between the handle and blade but the newer ones are much much better. The new Paras are better but I find all the North American made autos to expensive. A nice CZ or Taurus is much cheaper for the same thing. The new Armalites look cool as well.
I don't know why I even torment myself with these discussions since I can't own a handgun. [censored] Canadian government and their "rules". I say pistol whipping someone PROVES" you know restraint because you could have shot him and didn't. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" />

The Para Ord. pistol is a good pistol. Many custom parts available, as with other makes. I used to want one also until the Clinton fiasco some years ago when magazines became almost impossible to get. But you could still get them from the factory with a new gun purchase I believe. The Glock magazines were available everywhere on the second hand market and cheaper. I believe the 10mm is one of the best all around calibers out there, from heavy thumper to lightning bolts. It surpasses the 9mm, 38, and 357mag., and darn close to the 45acp and 44 mag. As far as ammo is concerned. Better buy it know becasuse it's likely to keep going up in price.
