Hi,

What's the difference between Combat Grade (CG) and Sterile?

Thanks!
CG means it comes with the black crinkle coat, sterile simply means it is without the logo on the blade.

They are the same. The sterile ones have no logo or markings. The only combat grade SY knives with the logos were the SS4 and Yard Keeper CG.

The original Dog Father is a great chopper, right up there with the Busse FBM, but with more comfort and a heck of a lot less costly. The edges on recent SY knives have been improving lately. I hope the new release of DFs continues that trend for the sharpening challenged customers.

Good to hear you are recovering, Dan. I am on the same path, and it feels good.

Not to disappoint, but more than one Dog Father would qualify as "knives". <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

The Dog Father was my very first Busse-made knife. I just missed the release and got mine on the secondary market. Was I impressed? I guess so. I now own 24 Busse-made knives. As a life-long knife collector, I believe the Scrap Yards, Swamp Rats, and Busses are the finest hard use knives available. Those of you who missed out on the DF and want a great chopper bowie need to jump on this release. You may never get another chance to buy one at store prices.

How much difference is there between DF CGs and LEs (assuming that this release has the same specs as the initial run)?

I'll probably order a couple anyway, but I have multiple LEs (and am very happy with the weight and balance of them), so designating one of them as a user isn't an issue for me. Do some of you prefer the CG over the LE, and if so, why?
