Prince: I like the custom ATS-34 chopper. I live on a salt marsh, so a good stainless DF would be awesome. I'm sure it would cost considerably more. I say, make a Bowie! I got a kitchen full of little slicers. I want BIG OLE KNIFE. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Stainless makes a lot of sense on a folder, but even a strong folder is weaker than a weak fixed- and weak isn't a yard thing!!

Hmmm Andy...a satin/bead-blasted ATS34 shaker *would* be pretty nice with a little kydex neck sheath. Great idea <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I'll pass on the folder though. There are many good choices out in the market already. IMO, high quality production folders are as much about lock and handle technology complemented with superb fit and finish as they are about carefully machined ultra high quality blade steel. Good blade steel alone does not a good folder make.

Hmmm Andy...a satin/bead-blasted ATS34 shaker *would* be pretty nice with a little kydex neck sheath. For my Shaker I’d like to eventually make a carbon fiber neck sheath, on a dogtag chain breakaway for safety with a black outer sheath cover for the chain.

They want ALL fixed blade knives attached to the belt in plain view. Folders of any length are ok in your pocket though.

It could be worse then! An ATS34 e.d.c does make sense and the shaker is a beautifull little knife (thanks folks who posted the Busse and rat shaker pics.. Andy and someone I think..) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
