Guns and knives brother... I'm really wanting to get a little M4 type AR-15... Gotta stay away from the gun stores...

I've got an M-4gery. It's a sweet shooting gun. However, for my next AR I think I might build a RECCE.

I don't think INFI is in the cards. If you want an infi knife there are the Busses. I would like to see a shaker style blade in Minfi (modified infi, aka Busse basics) but I doubt we will see it either. SR101 is a nice steel for smaller blades with better edge holding but less toughness than S7. A 3 inch scrapper Nessmuck in D2 would make an amazing EDC. I have always liked the Ontario Rat3.
A folder made of a good tool steel with a blade coating would not have a rust problem and would attract a lot of the people like me who don't like stainless.
With a tool steel like D2 (which the swamp used on smaller blades) can be made harder (62 rockwell) with better edge retention and toughness than a comparable stainless. Another advantage of tool steel is it is much cheaper than comparable
stainless.

TOOL STEEL RULES!

I have a Muddy Warden that the calipers say is .197 at the spine and it really doesn't seem too thick. The knife is lighter than you would expect because so much of the steel in the handle area has been removed.

Thanks PK- if Dan made I'd buy it! (Hopefully with the discount Dan said he'd think about for the good idea!) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

It'd go lovely with my DF.. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
