I've got a Sog Toolclip (with the prybar, etc.), and I'm really happy with it. Not exactly lightweight (I think it's in the 7oz range) or slim, but rugged for sure.

I bought a WAVE a couple of months ago to replace my Original Leatherman---I should have done it years ago.--I put it on my belt -left side and a Howler ,Res. C- version when hiking etc.. Saw for small fire starter and the knife for making fuzz sticks. If I camp out I take a Ratweiler. In some ways I think I should have went up a notch and got a Leatherman with a 154CM blade.

is the skeletool out yet? or just due out? i think i might pick one up. i was on leatherman's web site this morning and see they make a bladeless fuse. great for carrying on an airplane as i don't think it includes any prohibited items. a leatherman would still make an excellent self defense (or offense) tool in a pinch.

I love my LM wave,I assume it is the 1st edition being it has a fixed philips screwdriver not the interchangable and mine has USA stamped on the plier face, the newer style LM Wave's do not.

I too love my wave, although the surge with it's exchangeable blades looks like a definate wish list item.

I agree it looks like a light duty tool but there are times when a lightweight one would be nice to have. I carry one of there TI Charges and even with the titanium handles it still tips the scale at 8.5 oz.

JYD#14 Do you need one, of course you do it's a knife and you like knives.....

I'm a big Leatherman nut, I look forward to getting a Skeletool eventually. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

I carry a Surge every day, it'd be nice to have to lighter Skeletool with pocket clip as an alternative on certain occasions. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

That’s what I did. I decided if it was something I would be carrying every day, I might as well spend a little more and get the better model. My first Leatherman was a PST II. My second one was a Ti Charge.

the Skeletool is out now, but limited. more and more will be available in the next coming weeks, the freestyle is not yet. look for deals.

here is a good review on the Skeletool, go to the Reviews section and you'll see "Leatherman Skeletool Review" by Tom Munch; http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,3586.0.html

Thanks. It’s my favorite. I’ve tried several different holsters, and that’s the best one I’ve found. I bought it on eBay. It goes in a pocket, no loops or anything. The smooth side of the leather is on the inside for a fast draw, and it’s molded to the shape of the gun, but it’s not tight at all, which makes for a very fast draw. You could have your hand in your pocket, and pull it in less than a second. It’s very comfortable to carry. The Colt is a pocketlite, and you can’t tell you even have it after a while. It’s not noticeable to others that I have it in my pocket either. I tried a few other molded pocket holsters, but they were too tight and difficult to draw fast and smooth. They would usually catch. I’ve carried that gun in that holster for so long, I have areas on the gun polished smooth and shiny from carrying it and it rubbing against the leather.
