I noticed that that Rijbak has a similar profile to the HEST with that hook on the end. That's one of the things I kind of liked about it. Looking at those ZT's I noticed they dont have the deep carry clips, does anyone have any ideas on how to make or have made a custom clip. I just don't like the top of a knife sticking out of my pocket.
Here ya go.

I went to ebay just to see what dealers were asking for new Rijbaks. $325 to $370. That's nuts!

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I got this Victorinox Hurcules this week.
It's a heck of a SAK,much bigger than my old Champ
& almost as big as the SS4.
[Linked Image from i760.photobucket.com]
I wanted pliers,a saw, scissors & screw drivers without the weight of a multitool.
The knife blade edge is 3 3/16" vs the 2 3/8"of the Champ.
The saw is 3 1/2" vs 2 7/8.I've used the saw on my Champ a heck of a lot & the added length of the Herc saw will make any needed sawing tasks that much easier.
I used my Champ as a mechanic in the Marine Corps & always wished I had the version with pliers.
The knife blade locks also, not really a biggie as I've never had the Champ blade close unintentionally, but you never know.
I'll be carrying the Herc in the psk while camping for now on & keep the leatherman surge in the truck.
The surge is one heck of a sturdy multitool, but it weighs a ton.

I bought the Champ at the PX in the early 80s & it has been around the world with me,but it's time to retire it to home duties.
Long live the Champ & hail Hercules.

If we were all really honest with ourselves, all the folders we bought would be SAKs. I can do more with my Trekker than any other folder. The SAK saws work great.

Yep, I think you're right. I've made a good go at selling my extras non-users. Just bailed out on my Sage 2 though...withdrew it b/c I couldn't stand the thought of selling it too cheap. Was trying to get down to my Saks and a spyderco centofante my wife gave me. In a SHTF scenario, the only folder I would take would be my sak..and multitool...and the centofante.....and...yeesh...better to hunker down apparently!

It's hard to beat a good SAK, I'm never without one usually a champ of some type, been carrying one just about as long as I've been allowed to carry a knife.

Thanks for link Myke, it's good to see someone will make them for me if I can't figure out how to do it myself. I wish the knife makers would start offering the deep carry as an option

Nice Knife Yote. Looks well cared for also and you are to be commended for picking such a classic and not surrendering to the "Newer is ALWAYS better" trap.
