I love how much you love . . . and USE . . . knives, Vic. You would think that the knives I use most would be top of the line. The knives I use most are my kitchen knives, and they are a mishmash of eclectic no name Chinese wonders with a Chicago Cutlery or two. The thing is, they work. I used my Dejavoo to cut up potatoes for stew the other day. It did ok, but no match for my Chinese mini-chef knife of mystery steel that I got at a supermarket. It is just as bad out it the yard. El Cheapo Tramontina's rule out there. I buy knives I'll never need because I like them. They are like art. The way "normal" people collect coins or fine china or jewelry, I collect knives. Then I use most of them in mindless "tests" in my backyard just for fun. Life is good.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

HAHAHA!!! yeah, what the hell benchmade?!?!? Oh well. It is made by Benchmade, isn't it. Looks like a Spyderco though. I have a fixed blade one. I should have remembered that. Getting old, I guess.

i thought you were makin fun of them. No, I just forgot the Griptilians were Benchmades. I only have one Spyderco, the Endura in VG-10. It appears to be very well made for the money and it came very sharp. From all I have read or heard from owners, Spydercos are very good folders.

I am in the process of negociating for a new Rat Trap. I have an excess of small EDC fixed blades to trade. For now, my most rugged folder is my Benchmade Skirmish framelock. It's a brute of a folder. Blade is S30V, handle is titanium. Got it on sale from my gun dealer. I haven't used it yet. Here it is next to my YK. The Skirmish is heavier! It's bulky and a bit heavy for the pocket. I may remove the clip and carry it in some sort of belt sheath. It makes the Dejavoo look like a gentleman's knife! I doubt if even the Rat Trap will be more rugged. Look at the lock on this brute compared to the Dejavoo.

The thing is, they work. kitchen knives are the most important blades in my home. we put together a block of wusthofs and henckels for the heavy use knifes and then got some cheap kitchenaid things for paring, cheese, etc. i wish my other blades got as much use as the kitchen knives!
