i think they just stopped selling. i bet the super duty folders were their least popular models. only we collectors buy folders like those. i think the mili is more of a crowd pleaser in that price range and the range of steels and handle materials put into that model are the evidence.

One of the things I like about the Li'l T is the color. I don't have any other green knives and green is such a restful color...just ask Kermit.

Which knife do you mean Vance?

The Aqua Salt is a lot less wacky than the RockSalt. I do want to try out the H2 steel.

There is a new Mule coming out! It will be M4 steel which will rock but will probably cost more than the 52100 Mule.

OH GOD!!! I need to get one of those. M2 is awesome, M4 should be even more awesome.

The only knife that I recall using M4 steel was a Custom Dwayne Dywer Japanese Fighter.

People should really start using steels with amazing edge retention, I don't think most people use their folder like they do with their fix blades. Toughness shouldn't be a concern for folders. Though, oddly enough, S90V, at the same rockwell hardness is tougher than 440C.

I would be interested in that.

I wanted to get one of those... I have red and silver...

Today for me its the Spydie Lava (my usual sheeple EDC), and the RAT Model 1 for my working blade.

I'm about the biggest RAT fan out there - I've thought about this particular issue some. Ontario has really pissed me off and screwed the pooch - I'll never support them again. BUT. There's no reason for the good guys at Chestnut Ridge (where I'm sure you ordered from) to suffer because Ontario are idiots. I see nothing wrong with you getting a great deal on a RAT knife that was made months or years ago that is already sitting in a shop. Ontario already got their money from it - and they won't be making any more (with RAT logos anyways). The Model 1's that Chestnut Ridge has in stock were bought from Ontario real real cheap (likely at cost or at a loss - hopefully!) and are being blown out by Chestnut Ridge. I don't think that you're giving any money to Ontario in this deal.

I do encourage everyone to check out that link. I'll never buy another Ontario product ever again, unless its an already produced and distributed Ontario RAT knife - as those are out of the factory and sitting in stores. I feel sorry for the workers at Ontario who will be taking a hit because the company made some terrible decisions that will result in the loss of a lot of business.

I DO hope that Chestnut Ridge will choose NOT to order more blades from Ontario, as they also do business w/ RAT Cutlery.

When the USA made RAT Model 1 folder comes out, though... try to show them some love! I know that I'll be getting several of them.

Congrats - you'll love it! That knife was a collaboration between Blade Tech and Jeff/Mike at RAT. It was produced overseas for Ontario, but they really didn't have a hand in its design. At all.

Like I said - they won't be getting any of your money for that blade - its already been sold and there won't be any more RAT Model 1's produced.

Check out my links in the Survival section of the forum for more details on all of that, by the way. Feel free to discuss at one of the RAT forums (at BF and at at www.jungletraining.com) - as it would cross the line to have a full blown discussion about it here in the Yard.
