a guy named josh that runs a couple of knife sites. probably shouldn't get in to it here. i've never had issues with his service, but if you search b/f you can find lots of opinions and experiences.

Yea let's leave it out. He's a good guy though.

Anyways, my question still hasn't been answered or helped. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I'll be going in tomorrow to see if I can get a deal down.

you gotta make your own call, sharp. having a safe queen or two just because you like them is nothing to be scared of. in reality, you can only use one at a time, so we've all got knives that get more use than others, and most people have some knives that never see action. even kitchen knives, that are the most used knives, have ones that become favorites and ones that just don't get used. if you decide to trade it, good on ya... if you decide to keep it and pamper it, good on ya... it's up to you.

Yea the new Millie Editions come with S90V and Spyderco CF (very rough).

My mini is in S60V. Not nearly as good.

LE in terms of mini actually doesn't stand for limited edition, although it is. It actually stands for "law enforcement". This is due to the wire/belt cutter cutout. I quite like the little cutout and find it fairly useful.

then I would just use the full size, (or "manual" as I was calling it for some reason) it's obviously a VERY good knife and it's a shame to keep it as a "safe queen" just because it might be a limited run of the knife or something.

JMO though.

I think the SARD can do everything and more than the socom.
The sard is 440c which also has excelent edge retention and eickhorns 440c is put under the german equivalent to the busse heattreat.
Plus its cheaper. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

The socoms rock though.
They are sexy.

Wasnt the socom and that spyderco(name excapes me) the only production blades to use s90v.
Very few custom makers use it also.

Yes emf, it has better edge retention and strength than s30v.

How much did those put you down sharp?

Yea, very few production knife makers use it. As I've already said, the new Spyderco Millies use the steel. You might also be thinking of the older millie which used S60V.

The only two custom knife makes that I know that actually actively use the stuff is Farid Knives and Scott Cook Knives. For the price of their knives I would rather have 4-8 scrapyard knives.

I believe the price was around 250-300. You have to remember this was before I found out about Busse. At that time I was still a little skeptical ( *slap*-- I challenge you to duel!! ).
