Nessmuk purportedly carried a 2 blade slipjoint with his axe and "nessmuk" style fixed blade. The fixed blade is what folks often call a Nessie style knife. That aside, it looks like a good rabbit and squirrel knife with the gut hook and saw. And with that orange G10 you might actually find it if you dropped it in the woods. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Hey guys - I've been gone a while, but picked up one of these in my travels:

Its a Gerber 06 Automatic - I've never been real big on switchblades before - Benchmade Strykers never really did it for me - but I handled one of these that one of our E7's has in my Guard unit, and just had to have one! They're USA made, S30V steel, steel lined aluminum handles, safety to lock closed or open, huge release button, solid lockup - 100% perfect IMO other than the fact that they don't make it in plain edge. Anyone else had a chance to check one of these out?

I'd been relatively unimpressed with Gerber lately - the LMF II started to change my mind, and this 06 has made me love the company again. They really need to make this in a "spring assist" version that the "regular dude" can carry (in most states). I need to move to AZ where the knife laws are reasonable!!!

diceman, that doesn't look bad for a gerber. I don't like that style tanto and serration, but skull breaker pommel and everything looks good.

Do you like the drop point version? I had to get one of these as well - just gonna put it in the safe, as I think these will be a good investment...

Off and on - gotta go clear the table right now, but I should be back here in a few minutes for a little while.

I'm pretty impressed with Gerber on this one - I've seen some real garbage coming from them the past several years...

The drop point version looks a lot better! But autos are illegal in Cali. And not really cheap either.

I can really only carry it when I'm drilling w/ the guard or working a reserve shift. Montana is retarded with their knife laws as well - although there is a bill coming up to allow autos for concealed weapons permit holders... which makes perfect sense to me (really, you can carry a gun but not a knife with a button??? Assisted opening knives have circumvented that already anyways... James Dean era ignorance is really all this is about!)
