I was really bent out of shape about the first Emerson I bought, long story... But the A100 has really grown on my alot. They can be had for cheap enough, easy to sharpen, I dunno. It even looks good scratched up a bit. It has spent several months in my pocket and its just part of my day to day. No single knife was in my pocket for as many years as my Chris Reeve but it wasn't that much better than my Emerson and cost 3 times more. Oh, and harder to sharpen. i love my A100. It has seen a LOT of bushcraft use. Wicked sharp, nice to hold. I open and close it all day long. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />

I think I found what model it is but I am unsure between two of them. It looks to be either the Wagner Day Hiker or the locking Adirondack. I believe it to be the Day Hiker as I remember it having a Philips head screwdriver out of the bottom and I do not remember it having two blades. My hesitance is based on multiple sites stating that every Day Hiker was sold through Eddie Bower. I am pretty sure mine, back in 1986 (or so) did not have that logo.

Spyderco has SO many amazing models. Yet I don't have any at the moment. After the S5LE I may take a break from fixed blades for a bit, so I can get a new gun or two,and some folders.
 Enjoy every sandwich.
