I plan on getting a RAT folder, too. I like the design a lot. But whether or not it will replace my Swamp Rat for EDC is questionable. For years I carried the Cold Steel Voyager. I have Spydercos and Benchmades and Blade-Techs, but those light Voyagers are hard to beat. My Rat Trap is slim and has a nice flat ground blade of S30V. It suits my needs perfectly and has replaced my beloved Voyagers. I like to support US manufacturers as much as possible, but I must admit there are some fine folders coming out of China, Japan, and Taiwan lately.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I like the Blade Tech Pro Hunters.
Frame locks are so nice though that RAT would be great if they keep their same warranty and they don't get unreasonable on the price.

...I want your Rat Trap. It is SO smooth. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> It is now, Paul. But when it was brand new it was not. Once broken in, the Rat Trap is smooth as glass, as you know.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

They're THE smoothest folders I have ever used.

All the BM axis locks are super smooth in my experience.I just got a 940 s30v yesterday in a trade for an emerson horseman. Not fond of the chisel grind.
SYKCO JYD#112 It's better to have it & not need it, than to need it & not have it.
