My only Chris Reeve knife is the Green Beret. While I have tested the knife, I seldom use it. But paying $300 was easier than trying to survive special forces training to get one. I'm sure the Chris Reeve folders are top of the line. I think they actually started the whole framelock thing. But the ZTs are most impressive for the money. If they aren't as fine as a CR, they can't be far behind.

Thanks Vic. While we're at it, what do you think about the Kershaw JYD (with the AF star and stripes of course)?

Mine is the JYD II. I hated it and complained to Kershaw when I got it. It was so stiff and slow to open, even after loosening the pivot screw. But it gradually wore in, and opens fast now. I carried it to Blade 2009 to exchange it for a looser one, but by then mine was easier opening than the ones at their booth. Now I love the knife. I mean, it ain't no Sebenza, but for the money, it's a solid knife. Since then, I have bought a few more Kershaws as gifts for friends. I have liked them all.

I have a benchmade 10300 monochrome that I really like and the kershaw seems like it would be about the same size. I have heard good things about kershaws. It the internet prices are right, a regular JYD can be picked up for about $30-35.00.

Ok, I was reading my newest knives illustrated and saw where Buck knives rolled off a 110 folding hunter. So what you say. Well it just so happens that it was the ONE MILLIONTH KNIFE MADE IN 2010! And this was back on October 29th! Guess some segments of the economy is still going strong!

AND is seems that Spyderco designed a jumpmasters knive at the request of the 82nd Airborne out of Fort Bragg. It's a fixed blade oal of 9 5/16 with a 4 1/2 inch H@ steel blade. The blade profile is a cross between the hawkbill and a sheepfoot, fully serrated except for a portion of the tip which is non serrated.

Oooh that's pretty. No, I don't guess you do need a ZT now. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
