I love the sound and feel of that thick heavy blade slapping open. It's like the pocket knife equivalent of the sound a 12 gauge pump makes.

Have you guys tried out the Benchmade 755? I have an offer to get a brand new one for $100. and wanted to know if its worth it.

I currently carry either a benchmade Grip or mini-Grip or a Spyderco Delica, I have not tried any Zero Tolerance yet though...

My HEST is still a two hander after loosening the pivot nut and working it in for two days. You won't hear any such sounds from mine. Now the ZT0301...oh yes, it has a heck of a sound when it locks open. And my ZT is a second! I'll take any ZT over the HEST folder any day.

My 2 cents is refund and bag one of those ZT/Hinderer 0550-0551's..whichever is out now. That knife looks hot hot hot!

Seriously though, I say if it remains hard to open, take up RYP on his offer to fix the knife. If you don't want to bother, just get a refund and buy something else.

I am very happy with my 0551 (and 0200). The factory just released a new shipment so some dealer should have one in stock.

Rick is promising a flipper design for the next ZT/Hinderer collaboration. I will be in line early for that one.

Well crap. I commmitted to a Hest folder pre-order the other day and was going to send payment out tomorrow. Now I am second guessing myself. I really like how deep it will sit in pocket, and the other features. Should I take a chance and give it a try and see if I get a luck of the draw or just save myself a headache and keep looking? I like the ZT knives but they don't sit deep enough in the pocket for what I want. What is the ZT/Hinderer that you speak of?

I say give it a try. If you don't like it, just sell it. I'm sure you'll get your money back out of it.

Horn Dog didn't care for his, JJ likes his. I've seen a lot of reviews that are positive, so I think you'll be ok.

I think I will try it. The ZT is one I would love to try but the clip sits where it makes it more visible, and that is a no go for me in my work environment.

I sent an email to DPx gear for returning it. Maybe I'll hear from them soon, but I'm not holding my breath. You just read nothing but good stuff about the HEST folder on the forums. All the fan boys and such. The one I have is really rough and poorly made. I have no reason to lie. I am not impressed at all.
