Ok guys, I've never felt this way before. I've lost interest in my folder collection.
I've always loved collecting folding knives. I have user sebbie large and small, a handfull each of Benchmade, Zt, spyderco, and kershaws. I could spend hours fondling and flicking them. Even when I add a new knife, I've never felt despair at my collection. But now, I really don't care about my collection like I used to. I think I've lost all interest in it. It's like I'm folder-collection-depressed!

What event might have caused this, you ask. Well, today I touched an 0777, and it touched me back. It only happened after I held the knife in my hands and flicked it open and shut. The feel of this knife is incredible. It has no liners and is super light. If I had to choose 2 words to describe it, they would be "feather laser."

My folder collection feels complete with just 1 knife. Well, I suppose I'll need to keep the dyad mini because it's post office legal.

ps. sorry for the photos, not adjusted in photoshop whatsoever. I was trying to snap them real fast before the last bit of daylight went away.

TT, what is that metal piece across from the clip? Decoration or is it functional in some way?

I don't think it can be a lock bar, the attachment screws are on the pivot end of the blade. You know, I bet that IS what it is. Maybe the actual lock is held in place by the screws.

surpirse! it is the lockbar.
The screws allow one to adjust the lockbar face so wear doesn't equate late lockup and eventually the end of lockbar functionality.
It looks as though the lockbar attaches to the carbon fiber under the clip.

Thanks for giving me a reason to pull it out and inspect some more

that's is a really cool looking blade ttech!

i had to laugh at "feather laser". but $800 is a little steep. how much were those when introduced?

well, it was introduced at just before blade 2011.
First orders were starting to get fulfilled beginning of last week.
retail is 600, minimum advertised pricing $480.
Having handled it, I would sadly pay $800 because for me this is a must have knife.

I've never felt a knife like this before, and I've never felt like this about a knife before.

ok, found something I don't like about 0777. the detent. If i put pressure on the lockbar, it becomes VERY hard to open.
problem is when gripping r-handed, the lockbar is valuable real estate.

Whut Chu talkin bout Willis! That Rat II is NICE. Yeah it's small but would make for a good EDC size blade. And it looks just like my full size original Rat I folder, now THAT'S a nice knife! The Rat I folder is the one that I keep in my 511 Push Pack.

I never really liked ontario knives.
After what they pulled with Randal's Adventure and Training, I just kinda don't feel like giving them any of my $.
They do seem to put out a good value folder though.
