Well, today, after a long time, I finally got my first Scrap Yard piece. I will just say this... There are a few good people left in this world. I obtained this knife from a very good man, and former soldier in the Army. (we look after each other) I cant begin to express my thanks to this gentleman and former officer. He deserves my thanks and praise for this gift. He knows who he is and when he sees this, I want you to know of my heartfelt thanks for the Scrapper 6 and the sheath. Now, my impressions. You guys better get ready. Because I NEVER thought this would come out of my mouth.... (drumroll) I like the feel of Scrap Yard blades better than I do my Swamp Rats! Yes, i just said that. Maybe it is in the Res-C handle. I dont know. The second I pulled this thing out of the box, and unwrapped it, I literally fell IN LOVE with this knife. I seriously cant express how much I love this blade. The finish of the SY knives is not that of Swamp Rat or Busse but I think thats what makes them awesome. I think SY is built on this mentality... As long as the performance is there, the finish and look doesnt need to be perfect. I think the blade looks awesome!!! Dont misunderstand me... But its not as pretty as some of the other Rats and Hogs I have seen. But I dont care. I LOVE this yard dog! I am going to be taking this to Iraq with me for sure. And as Horn Dog stated on another thread, this is the ultimate combat knife. And I will stand by him on that claim... I'll put this Scrapper 6 up against any other combat knife out there. Once again, I am officially a YARD DOG. I guess you have to just get one before you can feel how great these knives are. I am a believer and follower of the Yard now boys. HOOOOOOOAH!!!!! ![[Linked Image from photos-b.ak.facebook.com]](http://photos-b.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v192/66/102/57500792/n57500792_31497329_2651.jpg)

Congrats R/S - the S6 is truly an awesome blade!!! The Tan knife and sheath combo look great and will serve you well. NOW maybe you will understand how some of us tolerate the frustration and waiting sometimes - the knives are WORTH it!!! Tom

I have both the S6 and M6. That M6 is a tank of a knife, heavier than the S6. It is prettier, too with the micarta scales and all. It can chop well with all that weight, but it lacks the quickness, feel and balance of the S6. The S6 is a pure user. It exemplifies the the Scrap Yard philosophy of the highest performance at the best possible price.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

It is the best feeling knife I have ever held. And NO - it doesnt make me want to wait longer for knives!!! It makes me want them more and more and more!!!! I just wish i could go to the show this weekend. i would drop 500 dollars on the yard alone.

I like the 6 myself, its a very resilient knife and is good at many tasks. I think thats why it would make such a good combat knife. The res-c is just great and is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I am glad you enjoy the knife, I am sure it wont be your last.
I AM MOJO CRAZZZZY!!!

Congrats on your S6. I’ve owned several, and I prefer the Camp Tramp myself. They’re pretty hard to come by though, especially for a good price.

nice!I really should get an s6 someday too.
I think rats sure are prettier, and micarta may be better for small knives, but I just LOVE the feel of res-c and would love to hold an s6 and feel the perfect balance of it.
congrats reconseed.

Glad you got your S6! I still think it's Dan's best knife- especially in that colour scheme. That little dynamo should serve you very well! (On a side note you mentioned that the yard knives weren't as well finished as Busse Combat? I'd have to disagree-the goo on my Dan knives is better (more even and better applied) than my BATAC!!)
Anyway- enjoy your new knife and be careful in the sandpit!..
